Luis Ángel Meneses Cerón

Research professor and consultant in corporate finance, business valuation, financial markets, and sustainability (ESG).

Luis Ángel Meneses Cerón is a Business Administrator, holds a PhD in Business Administration, and a Master's degree in Quantitative Finance. His academic and research career sits at the intersection of corporate finance, climate risk management, financial sustainability, and capital markets, with particular emphasis on emerging economies in Latin America.

He has an extensive scientific output, with more than 30 publications in indexed journals in areas related to finance, accounting, sustainability, and business management. He has also served as a peer reviewer for international scientific journals, contributing to the evaluation and strengthening of academic research in the fields of finance and accounting. He currently holds the rank of Associate Researcher with MinCiencias (Colombia's Ministry of Science).

His experience combines applied research, university teaching, and business consulting, particularly in company valuation, financial analysis, investment project evaluation, and strategic decision-making based on financial information. In the corporate sector, he has provided advisory and consulting services to organizations such as Compañía Energética de Occidente, Emtel S.A., Cooprocafe, Consorcio CCH, and Xirius Tech, among others.

He completed a doctoral research stay at Kean University (United States), under the mentorship of Dr. Aarón van Klyton, strengthening his international training in research and business administration.

In teaching, he has served as a professor in undergraduate and graduate programs at higher education institutions including Universidad Libre de Cali, Universidad de San Buenaventura Medellín, Universidad del Cauca, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia (Cali, Barrancabermeja, and Popayán campuses), Corporación Universitaria Colegio Mayor del Cauca, Corporación Universitaria Comfacauca, and Corporación Universitaria Autónoma del Cauca. Internationally, he has carried out academic activities at Universidad Oriente de Poza Rica (Mexico) and at the University of Panama.

His current academic interests include the digital transformation of finance, artificial intelligence applied to financial processes, and new programming languages for quantitative analysis, with particular interest in the use of Python applied to finance, financial modeling, and data analytics for business decision-making.
